crimspace

the criminology and criminal justice network

Does anyone have any source(s) that would be helpful in teaching a 100-level course that discusses the major theories?  Any other suggestions would be welcomed also.  This information is a bit overwhelming for entry-level students.

Thank you!

Hi Shelly - Great question. I'm sure we all have favourites that we use but I'll offer you this one which I think is pretty good at talking about crime simply but critically without using too much jargon. The speaker sets up some key questions about what is and is not crime, whose interests are involved and who has the power to define some actions and people. I'd love to know what you think. Helen

Wonderful! When I got in there I found several others that will be helpful as well.

Thanks so much!
