CPTED as a complete failure in the United States? 1 Reply

After doing some reading around the subject for my exams... I found out that CPTED was a complete failure in the US... anyone know why?

Exam went well... the situational question was: "How can situational theories help our understanding of why some areas experience higher crime rates than others?"

I am revising Situational Criminology Theory for my exam in a week. I am quite confident with this subject as I believe it has real application to the "real world". Does anyone know any good books that I could use for revision? Ones I have found are a little to different.
