Hi all,

being a Part Time student I need to identify a way to fund my studies. I'm looking around but apart from the most known bodies I don't know where to refer to for criminology and sociology.

Could anybody suggest any Charities, trusts or foundations?

Thank you very much,

Fabio

I'm working on the Status of Prison System in the Philippines: Its Implications to Public Administration....then probably work on its Asian perspective later.

Rashid, I agree there are a number of people here who can contribute to helping each other. For example as a former Detective I am available as a resource if anyones research involves policing. All the best.

My work is to develop a Critical Race Theory of Desistance for Black British Men. I'm starting my 2nd year, but I've done my primary research and am now writing up.

Looks like we have a very interesting and diverse range of topics! Good luck to everyone, lets keep in touch and build a network of support!

Hi everyone. My name is Martin Glynn. I'm currently doing my PhD at Birmingham City University (uk). I've also just returned from doing a Winston Churchill Fellowship in Baltimore (USA). My studies centre on Black men, desistance, and Critical Race Theory. I am also an applied theatre practitioner with 30 years experience of doing creative work in prisons. Looking to connect to a new constituency for mutual support.

I am prison psychologist from Hungary and a lecturer in social psychology and prison psychology. Just now I try to finish my PhD thesis. My topic is prisons and drugs. I do quantitative researches like content analysis of inmate and prison officer writings, memories, prison art and also tattoos sometimes.

I am a part time associate lecturer. I retired as a Detective Inspector after 30 years service in 2009. Since then I have obtained a masters in International Criminal Justice, completing a dissertation on organised crime and terrorist nexuses. I am now completing a professional doctorate in International Criminal Justice researching the ability of terrorists to obtain firearms through nexuses with OCGs in the UK and India

I am working on crime victims. I want to examine their characteristics, explore their experiences, risk factors associated with armed robbery attacks, investigate reporting or non - reporting behaviour of crime victims as well as look at the compensation resources open to crime victims in Lagos, Nigeria.

At the moment under definition but the main aim is to identify the social-psychological variables related to desistance from crime.. still on my second year part time though!
