Starting research within a prison or the CJS could be quite daunting.

The best way to start is having some guidance and ideas about what to do, where to do it and how to do it.

Please use this section to add any documents, links or any information that might help someone willing to undertake some research.

Good luck,

Researchers’ Handbook: A Guide for Researchers in Offender Health

http://www.ohrn.nhs.uk/toolkit/Handbook5thEdition.pdf

This is a brilliant guide for those undertaking research within the CJS system. It lists all the different procedures your research might undertake and shows the flowcharts for decisions in each separate context.

It also has sections on ethics  and the IRAS application. Really valuable starting point for those at their first experience with research in the CSJ!
