Probation between Restoration and Punishment

Hello!

I thought it might be interesting to create a clearer  view about how the probation's applied principles stand on the restorative justice - traditional justice continuum. So any facts, empirical or theoretical studies you have knowledge of would be much appreciated.

I've worked on a project on this theme just last year, but my conclusions are related  to the romanian vs. american social background. My interest is now towards UK, but if anyone interested, I would gladly share  my hypotheses.
