Aloha Mai Kakou (Hi and Hello Everyone) Fellow Educators, Faculty Members and Criminal Justice, Public Safety, and Homeland Security Practitioners,
I am Dano Kraig Fernandez of Henderson, Nevada (originally from Reno, Nevada and Pearl City, Hawai'i). As for my career endeavor(s), I am presently employed as Compliance Audit/Enforcement Investigator for the State of Nevada Department of Business & Industry, DIR, WCS, Southern District. My area coverage is within the Southern Nevada region namely: Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Summerlin and Boulder City areas.
In addition to my full-time job, I work as an adjunct criminal justice and police academy/law enforcement instructor for the College of Southern Nevada (CSN North Las Vegas) and the National University (NU Henderson) Nevada campuses. The following are my fields of expertise, to wit: 1.) police administration and management; 2.) community-oriented policing and problem solving (COPPS); 3.) homeland security; 4.) juvenile justice system; 5.) police patrol techniques; 6.) diversity and multi-cultural law enforcement; 7.) law enforcement ethics; 8.) public policy and administration; and, 8.) research methods in criminal justice and criminology.
After fruitful and commendable years holding various positions with the State and County law enforcement agencies, I am in the process of moving to the next and last level (Federal) of my law enforcement career. I am considering a position with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Office of Investigations (OOC) based in Williston, Vermont.
