Aloha Mai Kakou (Hi and Hello Everyone) Fellow Educators, Faculty Members and Criminal Justice, Public Safety, and Homeland Security Practitioners,

I am Dano Kraig Fernandez of Henderson, Nevada (originally from Reno, Nevada and Pearl City, Hawai'i). As for my career endeavor(s), I am presently employed as Compliance Audit/Enforcement Investigator for the State of Nevada Department of Business & Industry, DIR, WCS, Southern District. My area coverage is within the Southern Nevada region namely: Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Summerlin and Boulder City areas.

In addition to my full-time job, I work as an adjunct criminal justice and police academy/law enforcement instructor for the College of Southern Nevada (CSN North Las Vegas) and the National University (NU Henderson) Nevada campuses. The following are my fields of expertise, to wit: 1.) police administration and management; 2.) community-oriented policing and problem solving (COPPS); 3.) homeland security; 4.) juvenile justice system; 5.) police patrol techniques; 6.) diversity and multi-cultural law enforcement; 7.) law enforcement ethics; 8.) public policy and administration; and, 8.) research methods in criminal justice and criminology.

After fruitful and commendable years holding various positions with the State and County law enforcement agencies, I am in the process of moving to the next and last level (Federal) of my law enforcement career. I am considering a position with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Office of Investigations (OOC) based in Williston, Vermont.

Let's all hook and chat about criminal justice, law enforcement, public safety, homeland security, social sciences, and any topics under the sun.

Happy Columbus Day to ALL!!!

Respectfully yours,

Dano Kraig P. Fernandez, MJA
