Criminologists Society of J&K in collaboration with J&K Police organized a one day seminar on two important subjects,
1. Road Accidents and Human Factor, the ways to tackle the problem in J&K
2. The role of information technology in combating crime-A Reappraisal of our present functioning.
This seminar was a part of programmes under Project Safe J&K, being executed by both these organizations. Sh. Qamar Ali Akhoon, Hon’ble Minister for Transport, J&K was the Chief Guest, Sh. Kuldeep Khoda, DGP J&K was the guest of Honour.
On this occasion a book titled “Controlling the Mind of a criminal, the Yogic Way” written by Sh. Rameshwar Singh Jamwal, President, Criminologists Society and Deputy Advocate General, J&K was also released in J&K. This book contains a new Crime Theory developed by Mr. Jamwal, which is first such endeavor by any Indian and as per him, has aroused the curiosity of criminologist all across globe as it provides a unique way to control crime, which is non lethal, totally inexpensive and by virtue of which even the character of millions of neurons in the brain can be changed, space can be created in them by deleting obnoxious programmes and files and then this space is utilized for storing positive ideas.
The function was attended by large number of senior police officers including Mr.H.K.Lohia, I.G.P,Mr.Jonny William,Mr.Kamal Saini,DIG’s and many other SSP’s and other senior ooficers. Mr.M.I.Qadri,Advocate General, J&K was also present, bureaucrats including Commissioner/secretary Transport, Secretary CAPD, Transport commissioner, RTO, Jammu and other senior officers of Transport Deptt. academicians, political leaders, social activists, Advocates, and people from other walks of life. This Project has been launched to create a culture of Lawfulness in the state and to prevent young generation from going astray or adopting the path of criminality.
While speaking on the occasion, Sh.Akhoon lauded the efforts of Criminologists society and J&K Police in taking such initiative which can be very useful for the state and its residents. He said that Governments have important roles to play in such initiatives and we must encourage such initiatives which have bearing on life of people.
Sh. Akhoon said that it is heartening to see so many good paper presentations on road accidents and he will try to implement the suggestions as emerge in the seminar. He further said that his minstry is seriously trying to work out a mechanism to prevent accidents and sought cooperation of civil society in combating this evil.
Sh. K. Rajendera, ADGP, said that J&K Police has been outstretched due to prevailing situation in the state and it is good that civil society organizations are taking initiative to share the responsibilities of police .He said that the J&K Police has been cooperating with the Criminologists society for the last few years in this partnership of police and civil society and has participated in various programmes of society which are bringing changes in perceptions of people towards issues raised by society. Earlier, President of the Criminologists society, Mr. Rameshwar Singh Jamwal, Advocate, while throwing light on his book said that he has a unique solution for Combating Crime of all sorts at national and international levels, and for checking road accidents as well in the state and the country and bring down the level of crime considerably and casualities by accidents by atleast half within a period of one year if his Crime theory is implemented and his suggestions are accepted by the governments. He made a power point presentation to show this unique technique of emptying the brain cells and then refilling them with positive ideas thereby changing the behavior of criminals and drivers for tackling such issues ., Sh.Ramesh Angral,SSP read the vote of thanks on behalf of Mr. Dilbagh Singh, IGP Jammu and said that these sorts of activities help in galvanizing the civil society for fighting against the menace of crime.
Five papers were also presented by Sh. Rameshwar Singh Jamwal, Sh. B.S. Slathia, President Bar Association Jammu.Mr.Manish Sinha,DIG, Sh. B.L.Saraf, Retd. Distt.& Sessions Judge and Sh. Usman Slaria, Vice President, Bar Association Jammu.
Earlier Mr. Ranjeet Singh, Advocate and General Secretary read the welcome address and listed various achievements of the society .Mr.Pawan Dev Singh Advocate was the stage secretary, Bouquets were presented by Sh. Suresh Sharma, Miss Manisha Kohli Vice Presidents, Rakeshwar Singh Durswal, General Secretary, and Mrs.Prabhjyot Kour. Sh. Ashwani Kumar, Mr. Sandeep Singh, Mrs. Hema Chowdhary, Amarveer Singh, advocates, Mr. Ramesh Angral, Staff Officer to IGP Jammu, Jammu, Mr. Rajesh Gill SPO, Mrs.Sunita CPO, Mr. Sham Lal, DSP, and many other police officers and members of society contributed a lot in making this programme successful.The Book which was released has been published by the well known publisher Taneja Publication house,Gwalior.
